Battlefield Press, Inc. Signs Agreement to Purchase The d20 Magazine Rack
April 10, 2008 – Today Steven Creech, owner of the d20 Magazine Rack and Dragonwing Games and Jonathan M. Thompson, owner of Battlefield Press, announce the purchase of the website d20 Magazine Rack (http://d20zines.com) by Battlefield Press. Mr. Thompson will take over operations of the d20 Magazine Rack on May 19, 2008.
"I have been visiting the Magazine Rack on and off for the last several years, it is a great site for gaming resources, its reviews have often determined if I bought a product or passed on it," says Jonathan M Thompson, "I intend to use it to as the resource that Steve has worked so hard to build."
A Time to Say Good-Bye
It is said that all good things come to an end. Since shortly after third edition D&D was released, d20 Magazine Rack has been a resource for gamers to come to. Now, the time has come to close the doors and shut down the website.
The primary reason for this is largely due to ongoing health issues and my inability to devote the needed time and resources as a result. I appreciate everything that our staff reviewers have done through the years toiling through product after product and posting reviews. I want to say a sincere thank you to the publishers who have donated product for review through the years. I also appreciate the volunteer efforts that have gone forth in the production of the various electronic magazines we have hosted through the years.
Donations needed once again this year for the site's operations
Update 6/15/2006: About $100 is needed until the goal is hit. Please keep the donations coming.
Last year, many of you reached out with kindness and donated a sum of money to help keep my website, d20 Magazine Rack, operational. After it was all said and done, over $1200 was raised. I cannot even begin to express in words what that gesture meant to me. Thanks to what was raised so generously last year, the need this time around is far less. By my estimates, only about $300 - $400 is needed to cover all of the operating costs for the rest of this year and likely all of next year's too. I've managed to combine and cut some unnecessary costs and consolidate hosting services and domain name into a single source which has reduced what I pay monthly along with domain name registration costs.
Volunteers and reviewers needed for d20 Magazine Rack
Update 11/04/05: I have received several applications and will be reviewing and contacting everyone as soon as I get my current computer issues resolved. So be patient if you haven't received an answer from me yet. :) -- Steve Creech
Here at the d20 Magazine Rack, we are currently in need of three additional staff reviewers and one executive assistant volunteer to help with coding articles properly for release onto the website.
Donations needed to keep this site operational
Update: 06/21/05 -- 0one Games, Clockwork Golem, Creative Mountain Games, Dark Quest Games, DogHouse Rules, ENPublishing, Expeditious Retreat Press, Hekoya Studios, Highmoon Media Productions, Le Games, Malhavoc Press, Parent's Basement Games, Red Spire Press, Ronin Arts, RPGObjects, ST Cooley Publishing, Sword's Edge Publishing, The Kyngdoms, Twin Rose Software, UKG Publishing, and Wizards of the Coast have generously donated prizes to randomly drawn individuals who place a donation. Details are below along with the current amount raised.
The d20 Magazine Rack is in need of donations in order to keep the site running for another year. Without additional funding, it is likely the site will close by the end of July. Donations can be made through the Paypal donate button on the upper right side of your screen or by contacting Steve Creech directly via email.
